Now that the holidays are over, our days start to dwindle down to normalcy. There is a time for celebration and then there is the times of humdrum, repetitive life. To break up the repetition of everyday life, you can break it up by going on dates with loved ones.
One date that I suggest is a restaurant chain called Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse. This was a game changer for me. They have locations in the US, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Mexico and the Middle East. I had never heard of a Brazilian steakhouse before. A new friend I made at work had introduced me to it. To him, I am totally grateful. If you have not been to a Brazilian steakhouse, I will give you a breakdown of how they function.
When I first walked in, the atmosphere was very classy and nice. It looked to me like a high end buffet restaurant. The place was packed and buzzing. My countenance changed to comfortable and calm. My friend and I was seated and was given a wine menu. The hostess explained to us that we could go to the salad bar and get foods to eat with our meat. The bar had all kinds of soups, cheeses, vegetables, antipasto salad, garden salad, roasted red potatoes, asparagus, sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms, roasted eggplant…..many wonderful, delicious things that I normally didn’t see at the buffets I’ve been in the past.
After filling up our plate with goodies, we went back to our table. We were instructed to take the cardboard medallion on the table and flip it over to green when we were ready for the waiters to start serving us the meats and when we become full, to turn the medallions back over to red. Soon as we flipped the medallions over to green, waiters came over to our table with huge cuts of meats on skewers. Top round, bottom round, prime rib, filet mignon, pork cuts, chicken wrapped in bacon…..anything that you can think of that is meat. I thought I died and went to meat heaven. Men were coming up to me on both sides of me and asking me if I wanted their meat.😉 It was wonderful! I almost forgot there was someone there with me.
Every cut of meat was seasoned to perfection. I prayed for God to give me a couple of more stomachs. Unfortunately, my on stomach became full and my esophagus was packed as well. All good things must come to an end at some point. 😢
The price for the full churrasco experience dinner at the Troy, Michigan location was around $50. If you wanted just one cut of meat, it is $30-$40, depending on what meat you want. For just the salad bar, it was $26. The lunch and brunch prices are different. Full churrasco experience for children ages 6 and under eat free, 7-12 is half-price.
This place gets a high rating from me. It will definitely be a place I will visit many more times.
